Agree starts making personal contact with residents

The Agree project has launched a series of actions aimed at educating locals in the specifics of the project and the advantages for beneficiaries in the selected neighbourhoods in Donostia-San Sebastián, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Basauri.

Residents of the 3,208 housing units covered by the Agree project are receiving letters and information booklets, which contain details of the project and the financial opportunities created by the Housing Department of the Basque Government.

At the same time, a helpline has been set up with operators to deal with questions and queries from the people concerned. Ensanche XXI held a meeting for its neighbourhoods last Thursday, on 29 October, giving residents of all three municipalities access to the information of the project to clarify any concerns they may have.

The Covid-19 pandemic is making it challenging to explain the project in the neighbourhoods, and innovative solutions are being used to manage and communicate the initiatives.

These efforts hope to reach 6,224 people who live in 329 buildings in Federico Mayo in Basauri, around Gaztelu and los Luises streets in Donostia-San Sebastián, and Adurtza and San Cristobal in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The communication materials describe the objective of the project, which is to upgrade building facades to make them more energy efficient and improve accessibility by installing lifts. It will also be an opportunity to explain the financial measures and the support that Agree, through the urban companies involved, is arranging with co-ownership associations, advising them on how to apply for and obtain grants.
